    Morning all

Planning to ride to Abergavenny tomorrow to visit a bakery 🙂

    Any route suggestions from Bristol?

Ideally quiet and no evil climbs

Over the old Severn bridge, past Chepstow and turn left onto the Usk road by the Budgens supermarket. Follow that (lovely) road through to Usk – turn right in Usk for Aber, follow road to the Steel Horse cafe (worth popping in for a cuppa if you have time), then left into Aber.

    I thInk you’ll enjoy it!

Great, thanks mate. Guessing it’s not too hilly if it follows the Usk?

It’s certainly rolling, but not hilly. If you come back the same way there is a longish climb (about 4-5% for maybe two miles) but that’s about it.

    Angel Bakery, or Greggs?
I can maybe meet you in Usk if you wanted company? No offence taken if not.

A_G got the route about right, but you don’t need to come into Usk, you could go via Raglan which is a bit more scenic though slightly further.
There’s also a lumpier route through Devauden from Chepstow.

Angel Bakery – I’m calling it a business trip!

Cheers for the offer of company. Probably won’t on this occasion but thank you, very good chance I’ll be late, slow, dither, break something, stop for a nap, or all of the above

    I tried to buy that.

Lovely route that, goes past my parents house. Watch out for motorbikes on the Chepstow to usk section. It’s like the tt along there on sundays. The speed limit has been reduced to 40 and double white lines along it now, don’t know if that helps, it’s such a windy Rd it’s difficult to enforce.

Great countryside, miss it since living in s england.
