    Hi
Looking to take the kids (8 and 6) to Brechfa to do the green route. The trail map claims 506m of climbing which sounds a lot for a 9 km green route. The oldest has ridden the blue trail in the Forest of Dean and new trails around Bristol but this sounds like a lot more uphill.

Anyone taken their kids around Brechfa and how was it?

From what I remember when I rode it, it’s mostly gently undulating stuff through the woods.

There may be 500m of climb but it’s spread out evenly over 9k. It’s gently undulating and regularly ridden by kids of all ages. Should be no problem, even for a 6 year old, and there are plenty of opportunities to bail out and take the fireroad back to the car park.

taken my 6yr old niece and 12 yr old nephew to Brechfa- they did the green and blue without any problems and wanted to do a second lap. Also done Nant Yr Arian Summit trail no issues. They loved it.

There aren’t any long climbs on the Brechfa Green, just lots of undulating trail, it’ll be fine.

Thanks all. Sounds great. Will remember to take plenty of snacks for them.
