    Hi,

Received a nukeproof scout 290 comp 2016 about 4 weeks ago only ridden it once. Its been hung by the front wheel for over a week and the front shock has had a small wee all over the frame.

Does it sound faulty or should i just not hang it from the front? Oil seems to have come from the top seal

    Thanks

Just looked closer after cleaning off the oil and noticed the seal isnt right. It looks like half of it is caught in the shock itself 🙁

Its was a cycle to work bike from chain reaction.

Obviously needs fixing but what would they normally do with them being so far away?

Sounds like the wiper seal has popped off? That will be lowers oil bath. CRC will take the fork apart, reseat the seal, new oil and put back together.

They will either ask for you to send the fork back on it’s own, or the full bike.

When you do, make sure to use a courier that is OK to have forks / compressed air sent in the post.

    Contact CRC.

It would be a very easy job to do yourself if you don’t need the hassle of postage.

More than likely happened during assembly of the fork when they pushed the sanctions in. You could unbolt the lowers and pull them out add oil and pop it back together. But tbh I would contact crc and send a photo or two.

When my forks were faulty crc only asked for the fork back, not the bike. I returned them via there returns courrier (it’s all on their website). Took just over 3 weeks to get back all sorted (they did forget to return the crown race but swiftly dispatched one when I pointed this out). It was simple process, just bikeless for a bit.

Decided to take to a local suspension specialist (slick and slide suspension macclesfield)

To replace the wiper seals and change the oil its £30 so im going with that. I contacted CRC and not heard anything back from them.

Im going to try and ask them to refund me the £30 as i dont want to be without for 3 weeks. If they wont its not the end of the world.

The oil stains on my garage floor are still there from the last time i serviced a fork 🙂
