long story short the Mrs is away for a girls weekend, so she asked what I was up to and told her I was looking at bits for my bike and the reply came to “just buy something”
the suggestion of a Bird Aeris didnt go down too well but I need new brakes, upto £60 an end for my hard tail. General use with no mental downhill shenanigans.

    Enlighten me Oh STW !!

    Shimano SLX. Simple.

Cheers for the reply, I was going to say SLX as it does seem to be the go to breaks without breaking the bank.

Shimano brakes are good and a good price. Although after 2 years being trouble free my XTs are becoming a really PITA and need servicing all the time (our experience with Zees hasn’t been good). But for <£75 Shimano seems to be the go to brake. We’ve got Guides (RSC & R) on two bikes and they seem pretty good but cost more.
