I was thinking of changing my cranks on my new Trek Stache to Shimanos but noticed they say BOOST on them. Does anyone know if they are different, and if so, how?

    Thanks

Boost cranks have an extra 3mm wide chainring/chainline. You can replace with shimano, but you’ll (probably*) need the Boost versions, which are available for XT and XTR, probably nothing else though.

    * Your frame may run non boost if the chainring is small enough and its 1x. Also, a converted 2x > 1x shimano crankset will run a near Boost chainline anyway, if thats the option you’re looking at.

    Perfect, thank you very much.

Is it close enough to do with a raceface cinch crank and flipped ring, like we do with fatbikes?
