Before I start taking it apart can anyone confirm who built the single speed rear hub bontrager used for the trek 69er rear wheel?

I know that the geared race x lite wheels used dt swiss hubs but I don’t want to assume anything 🙂

Which colour was the frame? The root beer coloured frame had a DT240 rear hub. Later ones were Formula IIRC.

Not all the Race X Lites (geared or otherwise) used DT, so even that’s a dangerous assumption. Pull the freehub body off – should come off by hand. If it’s got star ratchets then it’s DT!

Sounds like I need to take it apart before ordering any parts then.

Fingers crossed it’s a DT hub

I wasn’t very clear earlier. The Root beer 69ers came with a 28h DT240 like this. The later year ones had white lettering and a mat finish, those were Formula hubs iirc. I raced for Trek on 69ers every year they made them. Like Njee said, a lot of the geared RXL hubs definitely aren’t DT. I can’t think of anything else that had a SS 26″ RXL wheel though, eg the later 69ers had Dusters.
