Thinking about getting some Bontrager MTB shoes, but can anyone advise on fit? I’m not sure whether to go for a EU44 or EU45.

I think my MTB Bonti shoes are 45 and have usually had to have 46 on Shimano and Sidi.
I have ridden them only about 20hrs, no sign of stretching yet.

I’m a 44 in Bontrager and Specialized, a 45 in SIDI and Shimano, a 44 in trainers and a 43 in proper shoes. If that helps. If anything they’re slightly more roomy than Spesh.

If only there was somewhere you could try a pair on before buying them……

    Agree with ^^
Normally around 44.5, often size up to 45. But 44 in Bonty RL shoes are a nice fit. I’d say average width, I have narrow feet but have them towards the tightest setting.

Thanks for responses. Looks like a 45 will probably be best then.

@CaptainFlashheart If only! My usual LBS doesn’t sell footwear, next two nearest bike shops are Bonty dealers but only sell their road shoes. I tried!

    They’re the biggest cycling shoes I’ve found. If you’re ever a 44 then I’d get a 44.

    If you’re never a 44 then it’s a peculiar question 😉

Road shoes will have the same last, particularly at equivalent price points. May be slimmer on top end than lower end. I’d try a comparable road shoe on if you can.

FWIW mine are RXL Carbons. Definitely bigger than S-Works.
