Just splashed the best part of a grand to put winter tyres on my BMW 5 series company car (the company wouldn’t pay for it but I value my own and my familys safety at way more than £1k so I did) and the improvement is dramatic, the car is way more composed than previously and I’ve had no sideways action since. If you want to know how a RWD can/can’t manage in snow then just pop over to Bavaria or Austria and watch all our continental cousins driving around in their RWD with winter tyres and no problems. If you can afford to put on winter tyres then it’s a true No Brainer!
