The first swallows arrived on our street today, the earliest arrivals are usually May 1st.

Combley Great Wood on the IOW yesterday. A riot of white and black and blue.

I went over to West Woods again yesterday, and, despite the weather being a bit dull, it’s truly spectacular, on the far side of the woods. Not overgrown with brambles, ash and sycamore saplings, or branches trimmed from felled trees.

Just moments from my door is this scene- i love Bluebell time!

Count Zero – those are gorgeous.

I’m leading my local WI group on a walk tomorrow evening with the soul purpose of searching out the local bluebell woods. After a reccy (the other day) to make sure they are all in bloom with the full on fragrance, it should be good.

Thank you, Bunnyhop! (Blushes furiously). It’s a shame the day was so dull, but the colour was spectacular, it just put a big smile on my face; it’s the first time I’ve ever seen such a carpet of blue like that.
Tempted to go back next weekend if the weather’s brighter.

In the flickr popup, you choose BBCode *then choose the size you want*. It defaults to 75*75 square thumbnail, rubbish
