    as im relatively new to my hope tech x2 brakes, how often do they need bleeding, had my new bike since may and ride it 2-3 times per week…

    When they go spongy, a bleed will usually revive them
    other than that, I probably change the fluid once a year

    Eventually the fluid will leak out, or go spongy because it absorbes moisture from the air. So then you need to top it up and when doing this you can inadvertantly get air bubbles in. These are spongy.

    Its easy to do – check out the hope website, they have a video.

    But dont bother doing it unless they feel wrong. Oh, and remove the pads incase you get fluid on them. They wont work after being oiled.

    I've had brakes go years without a bleed or fluid change – but probably usually do it once a year unless there's a problem (spongey, hose change, etc)
