I recently bought this Blackburn to replace my second model of faulty Topeak minipump. <rant>I was really hoping the second, more expensive, Topeak would fare better but it just became unreliable and the pressure gauge packed up – I don’t use it that much!</rant>

Anyway, I used the Blackburn properly for the first time today – heck it pumps up fast! Can’t vouch for reliability yet, but it feels like a quality product. Incidentally, it is the only carbon fibre biking item I own.

    still with lifetime warranty ?

I have 2 blackburns – one was a warranty replacement for a 10+ yr old pump whose washer disintegrated. I contacted them & asked for replacement parts but they don’t make the pump any more, so I got a new model (might just be that one actually)

likewise. my really old (10yrs-ish)mammoth needed a seal kit, they no longer made it so they gave me a new one.

Yep lifetime warranty on Blackburn pumps makes them a good buy.

So how could I ‘use’ this lifetime warranty? My old Blackburn pump (age unknown but <5 years) has failed (o ring perished).
No idea who I bought it from, no receipt………

I wouldn’t buy another Blackburn personally. First one failed, got replaced, failed again, replaced again (after a load of hassle). Lifetime warranty is OKish but I’d rather have a pump that didn’t need it.

I’m still using my mammoth that I bought in 1995… Never had a problem. Relubed a few times but still working perfectly as my main mtb pump 🙂

Still have a Mammoth I bought in about 1997 without any trouble what so ever going strong as the day I bough it.

Kit for fixing are available for a few £ come with lots of spare bits and fit various models.

same here, my blackburn mammoth 2 stage pump failed miserably after 2 months or so; when it worked it wasn’t all that great, the finicky head retention system and the lack of a handle were annoying.

I’ve got a few of them, oldest one being 6 years old, had one seal kit as it got grit inside it & killed it, but after rebuild has been great.
We only ever had three come back during my time in the shop (8 years) all of which were replaced without any problems under warranty.
