    New helmet colour decision:
Black looks cooler than white and matches bike colour, but will it feel hotter on a sunny day as black absorbs heat whilst white reflects it? I’m guessing it makes no difference as the polystyrene is basically an insulator. Same make and model of helmet.

Any other cod scientists have an expert opinion? (Of course you do, this is STW!)

White looks grubby after a bit, black is just black…

anything involving sunshine has become myth in recent summers. Worry more about the mud – grubby helmet isn’t a good look 😯

Maybe I should’ve mentioned it will be for road bike duties. So Tho less likely to get a mucky helmet.

If it weren’t for the inch of expanded foam, the reflect/absorb thing would be more relevant 😉

I imagine if there was a marginal gain to be had, this chap would be wearing a helmet which was predominantly a different colour

Maybe the black recharges his *EPO’z?

In the spirit of equality; how’s about a bit of both.

Black, but add some red or gold.

No place for white mtb’ing – if I had anything white it would look crap within 10 minutes

For this reason my next helmet will be white (or very bright yellow or that fluo green) .
