    Apple.

    I think I nicked this off here – MTG perhaps?

    If you think you’re hungry, ask yourself if you’re hungry enough to eat an apple. If no, then you’re not really hungry. If yes, eat an apple.

    I will happily scoff 1kg of apples in an hour or two, this annoys my missus no end, nobody else in the house like apples but my emptying the fruit bowl apparently ruins it’s decorative qualities,

    Then again I’d probably scoff 1kg of biscuits in about the same period…

    I’m really hungry now you’ve mentioned biscuits and Fruit…

    I reckon it’s more the state of your arse/the bathroom the next day that’s upsetting her.

    Oh, and for the OP, a slice of cheesecake will do the trick.

    as a little treat now and again please!

    do you deserve a treat? really?

    work – almonds
    home – cashews

    clearly neither of the above are any good if it was a calorie based decision that led you to drop the biscuits

    Nuts, not ones covered in salt or sugar.

    As @djambo posted when you feel peckish have a glass of water. Eating biscuits is a habit, your body/mind is getting hooked on the sugar high

    Where as I feel more hungry after an eating apple than before.

    OP – Easiest way is not having them in your house. Also if you always have a biscuit with tea / coffee you may need to stop drinking that for a while to break the association

    The peanut butter kit kat chunky is particularly amazing. I’d substitute a whole pack of chocolate digestives for one of those bad boys.

    Depends why you want to substitute. Berries are good for a low calorie snack as they don’t contain so much sugar as other fruits.

    If you looking for some protein based treats, then some quark or strained yogurt (such as total) mixed with stevia and flavouring is awesome. Or you could try WheyHey protein ice cream;
