Assuming the bike locks to the roof securely, what do people think? Could be a great, cheap accommodation option for a weekend of biking if they are on sites near trail centres, or perfect for when you are touring.
We’ve always struggled find places to camp when doing the SDW for example, but a farmer with half dozen of these on their land would be spot on.

Cool, but why does the bike need to be on the roof? If security was an issue then that’s like putting your bike in a thieves showroom!

I’m guessing the design is intended for stage races and they stack top to tail in the back of a lorry?

I guess putting the bike on the roof means it’s close, and difficult to remove without waking you.

There looks like there would be room for your stuff in the pod.Think you would be travelling lite, and it’ll be easier than bivvying.

Nice idea but would like to see the bike underneath and the sleeping pod on top. That way the bike has at least some shelter from the weather overnight

(yes, I know they get ridden in all weather but I assume no one stores them outside, open to the elements when they’re not riding)

I’m still struggling to see a static market for them, if I was a farmer i’d either:

a) setup a campsite
b) setup a proper glamping site, and appeal to more than just the few bikers (who’d mostly probably happily bivi anyway and just freeload the showers).

The main problem I can see (apart from not being entirely clear what a mountain bike glamping pod is) as the sentient one, and the one no doubt paying, surely the human should be able to call dibbs on the top bunk… No?

Looks rather like sleeping in a coffin. Not much space for getting dressed inside, or just sitting to eat your dinner.

I think those camping pods / wigwams are nice, but they should at least be big enough to sit up in. And it should have space to fit the bike inside.

Anyone else just switch off when they read the word “glamping”?

To me it just signals that someone’s going to ask me to pay the price of a nice B&B to sleep in a glorified tent/shed.
