Looking to spend a week in Oban area with the kids this summer so was wondering what MTB’ing there is in the local vicinity? any easy stuff for 4.5 yr olds too would be good

Have a look at Kerrera – island in Oban bay so you won’t have to travel by car to get there. Nice place and with no cars to worry about – OK it’s not techy, knarley, woo-hoo type riding, but should suit the easy for kids bit.
