We have got a week off from the 16th September. We want a biking holiday.
    Only restriction is no flying.

    Any ideas?

Based right on the beach we offer uplift assisted enduro and XC riding on some of the best singletrack in Spain. Some superb bars and restaurants for the après-biking.

The weather will be warm & sunny in September.

Based in Buckinghamshire and prepared to drive for up to 14 hours (a shorter journey would be preferable).

In typical STW fashion I’m going to push it and suggest Finale Ligure and/or Molini in Italy.

If you like intermediate to advanced technical trails, mainly in the trees – and with fantastic food.

Finale Freeride for shuttling in Finale, Rivierabike for the whole package in Molini.

It’s billed as 14.5hr drive on Google but you’ll gain 30mins on the French M-ways.

There will be lifts still open in Chamonix then, and no bike ban in force. You might struggle for a guide though. Other northern Alp resorts will still be operating, to cater for hikers. Austria, Switzerland are options, but the weather can start to turn later in Sept.

    Lake Garda is another option.

Pyrenees – you could look at Andorra with someone like Singletrack Safari or Basque MTB.

Or Scotland could be amazing once the midges have moved on, and you’ll save a few quid!

Whiteroom last September was great. Going back in August this year – simply can not wait 🙂

    Cheers all.

Serra cycling and finale ligure sadly look to far to drive just for a week. Scotland could be good but worried about touring/road biking up there in September, as if the weather is bad all week it could end up quite miserable. We did fancy going to the 7 Stanes area as mountain biking in the wet isn’t as bad (if the trails hold up ok).
We’ve been to Andorra before quite recently.

So.. I’ve always wanted to go to Chamonix, could be an option. Whiteroom/bike Verbier look good, but we are generally miserable gits who would rather not be part of a group. I wondered about a tour round the North French coast or maybe South Wales again for a trail centre holiday the weather can’t spoil.

Lots to consider. Thanks for the advice.
