My snowy night ride turned first into a snowy night push as the snow got deeper and more unrideable, but I knew there was fun woodland riding to get to…

…and then the freehub broke 🙁

The snow does seem to cause a few mechanicals. My shifter internals froze on Sunday so I had to stop every few minutes to warm the 9 speed shifter with my hand.

Gave up and rode home on a single rear cog.

Someone on here mentioned that free hubs can freeze and weeing on it is a quick fix.

My mates free hub froze at the weekend, hot squash on the cassette and down the back did the trick, fortunately didn’t have to resort to wee. That fork juice stuff seems to stop snow sticking, might try that on the frame to stop my bike becoming a snow ball. 🙂
