Idly reading a bikeradar review of a bike I’m getting soon, the wheel weights they give (1330g fr., 1750g rear) are around the manfacturer given wheelset weight (1560g). Any idea if they weigh with tyres, tubes, discs, cassette etc? Can’t see how else there is the discrepancy!

What wheels? Some, like Mavic, are a ‘system’ that includes tyres.

I think they weight them as complete packages with all the grippy, stoppy, go-y bits attached

@stevied – alex rims cxd-4 wheelset, seems to be a pretty budget but lightish wheelset.

@steve, cheers, thats waht I thought. Should loose a bit when i go tubeless

I wouldn’t mind betting the rims aren’t too dissimilar to some more pricey alternatives as Alex make an awful lot of rims.
