Just a PSA since there seem to have been a lot around W Yorks recently.

Mate got his bike piched from the staple lockup shed at work this evening probably about 4-5ish.

It was a silver Giant Revel 4 commuter ‘mountain bike’ – last years model and he’s only just finished paying for it on c2w so he’s gutted.

To be fair, the lockup technique sucked – looked impressive but was easily defeated – D lock through a couple of loops of kryptoflex and d lock only actually locked to the staple – only cables through the frame/wheels. Complete misuse of D lock but it’s not really a time to point that out to him.

There was a random mud crusted BSO left leaning up at the scene – looks like someone rode into the yard, cut the cables and rode out on ‘their’ new bike. Police have been called and landlord CCTV requested.

This was Sheffield S9 (within spitting distance of Forgemasters).

There were other bikes there that were ignored – mine was at home since I needed the car this morning.

Just mentioning for the reminder really – bikes are equally vulnerable at work as at home.
