Girl at work is wanting a proper mountain bike but doesn’t want to spend the earth. Also wants to ride it to work now and then. She lives up in Lancaster so riding off road will be Lakes, Dales and Lancashire and possibly a bit of Welsh trails.

So I was thinking one of these fangled 29er things like these

    Scott Contessa Rutland Cycling

    trek Cali JE James

    Spesh Myka Biketreks

Any further suggestions or ideas for such a bike?

    do you fancy her?
    do you fix bikes?

if she is going to be left alone to enjoy her bike, probably recommend a 26″ wheel, for cost, parts etc.

She is a bunny boiling nutter and you’d be off your rocker to go anywhere near her, but she quite entertaining.

I do help friends out with the odd bit of bicycle repair…

Is there much of a gulf between 26 and 29 er parts cost? I know its an emerging market and choice can be a little limited.
