    Hi All

I can’t use M&S because our house is too old and listed (even for M&S contents only).

Does anyone know of any reasonably priced insurance for bikes only?

ING Direct who do our house insurance limit bikes too £1000 each with a £2500 limit which is not enough.

    Cheers

We have contents insurance with Halifax that has my 3 bikes on. They’re each insured for replacement cost – the broker and I did a double take when I added it all up* – but total premium for contents and bikes is £23/month.

*how exactly say that you have 3 expensive bikes without coming across all uncouth by saying how much they cost 😕

And ING refused to increase the cover!

I’d keep looking for contents that will cover you, specialist insurance premiums will be about 10% of the value covered per year and they usually have more stringent clauses than general contents cover. Odd that M&S wouldn’t do contents only just because it’s an old/listed house though

M&S said yes to contents only for listed buildings and then said no when they discovered it was built in 1670…

And yes the quotes I’ve found have been around the 10% of value range

was told by the guy on phone that they cover bikes up to 5k so maybe try them?

I use Barclays – £3k limit per bike. Works of me.

    Try E&L:

Just taken out a rolling monthly policy with them – seems better value than cycleguard.
