Can ayone recommend some bike hire places in Les Arcs (staying in Bourg St Maurice) and experience of prices?

Got some weekly prices from Sport 2000 and my mate wants at least 160mm travel but it seems pretty expensive.

175 Euros for 120mm full suss Mondraker
450 Euros for 170mm freeride Scott

I can't recommend Sport 2000. We've used them quite a lot and had big problems. Bikes either not what we asked for or in a poor state. To be fair though, they've massively expanded their bike shop area for this year and they might do a bit better – I need to go down soon and have a chat about their plans for this summer.

Twinner in Arc 1600 is better, although only used them a couple of times. They had Commencal stuff last year.

Mitch at La Grange au Skis in La Rosiere is excellent. For this year, he'll have brand-new Kona Stinkys or a couple of well-maintained Kona Coilairs. Good guide too!

Whichever option you go for, it will inevitably be expensive!

    Twinner (Les Arcs): http://www.twinner-arcs-1600.fr/

    Mitch Demortier / La Grange au Skis : http://la-rosiere.skiset.com/magasins/la-grange-a-skis/ or tel. +33 (0)4 79 06 33 11

Twinner is probably the most practical – they're in Arc 1600 at the top of the funicular. La Rosiere is a pain to get up to if you don't have a car (some sweet singletrack back down though!). Sport 2000 up in La Ros are going to have some Scott Genius bikes for this year too.
