Bought these at the York Bike Show, £10 for the pair, bit of fun or were we done over?

    They are Claude Butler Frames

Apart from being hideous, they’re good fun 🙂

Bet they’re heavy! Oh and the head angle’s too steep for a relaxing laze in the garden.
Frames need to be virgin bamboo too for any sort of niche value.

you probably couldn’t get a pair of solid garden chairs.. or 4 frames for a tenner.. so it looks like a win.. they don’t look the comfiest though.. 😕

They’re so rubbish they are acceptable. I think a tenner was a bargain.

Yeah, but modern Claude Butler. 😡

We were thinking they would be good for the allotment, but they haven’t got there yet….

The angle isn’t too bad actually, they are better to sit than I expected, although they could be a little more comfortable.

We were told the frames had been used as training projects and weren’t suitable to ride anymore.

Would be interested to see what other people have made out of bikes no longer suitable to ride!

Sweep up the gravel and clean the patio slabs. Then report for a proper opinion

Add some seattube bottle cages for beer holding duties and you’re there.

Hubby says the bottle cages might have to be done! yay 😀

Very appropriate use of seat stays!

They are totally awful to look at though.

I like the idea of bottle cages, as long as you can get a pint glass in them!

What about cutting up some old tyres to use as a cushion on your back?

I’d grind off the v-brake bosses – someone’s goign to have a hole in their back/leg/head from one of those before too long…

Flowers sticking out of the seat tube?

Interesting that they have four identical frames to use for this!

They are a bit base – but for a tenner its not bad.

these are significantly cooler, but pricier.

I’d chuck ’em in the river as seems common for finishing off such rubbish steeds.

Do cyclist’s thighs fit comfortably between those seat stays? Looks a bit narrow.

I used to have something very similar in the “dungeon”.

A chair of any sort is not something I’d normally categorise as ‘fun’

Obviously you can have fun using a chair, but the chair itself is not a fun item.

Those are cool. Personally I’d like to see the frames (and chair legs) painted a nice colour and the wooden panels stained or varnished.

but the chair itself is not a fun item

You google ‘sybian’ and tell me that those womene don’t think it’s a fun chair…

THIS IS NOT ADVISED IF YOU’RE AT WORK OR SAT WITH THE MRS
