Eldest is nearly 11, and just about 5ft, any experience on what size of bike to go for, will 26 wheels be too hard for him to push? He is making a big jump from a Kona Makena.

26 inch will be fine, been sellin them to kids that tall and even a bit shorter for years. Get 16 inch frame or there abouts, don’t forget they’re growing. If you’re fairly tall maybe even push them onto a slightly bigger frame, they’ll grow into it just like that school jumper they get in september

I just bought my tall 9 year old a 13″ Trek 4300 26in, no problems yet.

Just bought a 14″ Kona Blink frame to build up for my 9 year old, who is 4:9. He has struggled to keep up on 24″ wheels and seatpost is maxed out on his Mongoose Rockadile.

Its not the wheels, but the frame (and reach) size that counts.

And tbh I ran my sons’ current bike with 24″ wheels for a couple of years first.

Wiggle have a big promotion on bikes at the moment, many are kids’ bikes.

Depending on top tube length, a 14″ or 16″ 26er frame should be fine.
