Looks simple and effective handy if you live in the Lakes

I really really like that idea but surely the spike sticking out the backpack could be quite dangerous for your neck in a crash??

Handy for climbing ladders, or maybe the Inn Pinn. However in pretty much every situation I’ve ever carried a bike I’ve only needed to have one hand free, in which case top tube across top of pack with one hand used to stabilise works fine.

Not sure I would want to be climbing that ladder right behind another person

I just use an old length of rope. Tie on rucsac utility handle, loop through frame and pull down over shoulder. You can tie it if you want on rucsack shoulder strap.

    Yup, a very niche product.

It used to be the case (before my best riding buddy got a job elsewhere) that all of our rides involved a good hour or so of hike-a-bike. Never felt the need for a dedicated carrying system.

Most packs that have adjustable straps on top (bag/shoulder straps) can be used to carry the bike for longer periods, although it does mean taking the pack off when you want to set the bike down.

I’ve really never had a problem carrying a bike like this

No idea why people need to balance them awkwardly on top of shoulders / bag.
