    Sorry if this has been done…

    Would you say that larger volume knobby tyres are better for these conditions, at least on the front?

    It's just I've seen that Pugsley owners have been singing the virtue of balloon tyres. Whereas I had imagined that skinny mud spike tyres would go better for the same reason they are good on mud. (I think of snow as clean white mud!)

    Just wondering if I should put my 2.35 60a HR on the front instead of the 2.1 ADv; that's all.

    i have been commuting to work this week through the snow on my 1.75 schwalbe tyres pumped up to 60psi and they have been a lot better than i expected. They seem to cut through the soft snow/slush a lot better than wider tyres but arent that good in compacted snow when wider tyres would be better.
