Following up on the Middleburn post I did miss the posts regarding our company but I would like to reassure the STW lads that we are still going very strong and still making pats here in the UK. Contrary to what someone posted we have not closed shop and if you require any specialised machining or mech hangers for new bikes you can’t get hold of, please please contact us and we will do our best to help as always.
I do try keep up with the posts on here but last week was manic and I had no spare time to answer the Middleburn post but I’ll try make time when I’m at home to keep my eyes on the posts here. So give us a call any time and visitors are always welcome too.

Cheers Stoner and best thing I can say to anyone who would like a product that’s not listed is to give us a call or email us. If there’s a call for something and we can make it in an economical way, we will do it. This is one way we add new mech hangers to our range and with new bikes if anyone has a new model (or even old) that mech hangers aren’t available for, we can sort something out so that some are made. We’ve had customers bikes before so we can build hangers for and now we can scan them and get dimensions for them. Anyone who loans us a frame or hanger then gets some free ones from us as a thank you gesture. We will keep the flag flying and thank you all for your support too.

Hadge, I’ll give you a shout…there are interesting frame developments afoot that may require a batch of special hubs for them

any plans to make your mech hangers better value for money? i.e. lower the price…. one of the biggest rip offs in the bike industry imo. 🙂

For the cast ones people buy I’d definitely agree, they are expensive for what they are. The ones CNC machined from a solid billet I’d say were good value for money and they do the job they were designed to do. Saves your expensive mechs and wheels from getting ruined so that’s a small price to pay – in my opinion of course.

I love it how people come on a positive thread about a specific company only to bash them for daring to charge (IMO) a reasonable price for something.
Im very happy with BETD and they did a great job on my Hope XC hub when the ratchet ring needed replacing.
Perhaps they could pick up on the Middleburn tooling?

LOL, you do realise that it’s the OEM people ripping you off don’t you? 10-15 quid (or more!) for a bit of low grade cast aluminium. Some of which bend under the load of normal shifting. Many of which aren’t even straight from new. (frame flatness is another issue altogether)

20 quid for a piece of accurately CNCed hanger in a named grade of aluminium is pretty reasonable in comparison.

they did a great job of “helicoiling” my BB on an old bike of mine,

100 quid to save a grands worth of downhill frame.

    Bargain.

Hi Hadge, at the risk of hijacking your thread – I spoke to BETD a year or so ago about the possibility of getting a stronger hanger for my Boardman FS Pro. We discussed making one that wasn’t drilled and countersunk for the (inessential) mounting bolt. I was told this could be done when a batch was being manufactured but never heard any more. Is it someing you could look into for me? I break about 6 a year!

Cheers guys for the positive comments and they are very much appreciated.
Speshpaul could you email me a picture of your hanger sometime, taking pics of both sides and I’ll see if it’s something we currently make but if not we could definitely help you out. My email is paul@betd.co.uk
As for the Middleburn issue we will see what we can do as it would be a shame not to be able to keep the cranks running and the chainrings available.
Tomhoward I will have a butchers at that thread and see what’s what.
Once again thanks for the comments and support guys.
