I’m removing the tumble dryer vent this weekend which goes through a single skin brick wall, what’s the best and easiest way of blocking it up? Need it to look ok from the outside too

Best way would be chop out any bricks which have been cut into by the vent, find suitable replacements and mortar them in as whole bricks. Better than trying to fill a circular hole.

I have a very similar issue. How tricky is it to get a small number of matching bricks.

It depends on the brick. B&Q and Wickes stock some common ones. Post a picture of the bricks and I can probably give you an idea of how easy it will be to match.

Anybody local doing some building work? Might find a few usable ones in the skip.
