    Hi

need to replace 1 post and 2 panels in existing panel fence.
    What’s the best way
    – fix new panel to existing post, brace new panel in positionish, install ‘missing’ post with just ‘base’ postcrete and align with panel and allow to set
    – install ‘missing post’ with base postcrete, distance check at bottom/top of posts, height check with other posts, vertical check with level, brace and leave to set then finish

    ?
    Cheers

I would dig out the old post and postcrete then run a line along the top of the two posts remaining posts (along the front edge) to give you a datum.

Drop the new post in and see where it sits, dig more out if necessary. If you are working on your own then wedge the new post in place with stones, get it into the correct position then fill with water to the required depth and drop in the post mix. Tamp it down and leave it to set.
