My normal tyre levers don't seem to cut it. A mate has some of those big Park ones but as they are metal I would be worried about damaging the rim. Any recommendations?

I don't know how I ever coped without one of these.

I have some of these icetoolz DH ones. They look like a screwdriver but are coated in a rubbery plastic and havent marked my rims so far.

Worked fine on 2 Ply Tyres.

Pedros levers are chunky things and great for stubborn tyres, but small enough to carry out on the trail. Also, have you tried squirting a bit of soapy water on the rim before fitting/removing? Makes a big difference if they're Super Tackies.

I fit motorcycle tyres without levers 😀

Park Tool plastic ones and a bit of washing-up liquid if they're being a pig.

Work it on by hand as far as possible, then hold one part in place with your knee and use the lever to fold it onto the rim (may take some brute force), works every time (I'm a DHer and change dual ply tyres all the time)

Pedros levers all the way. On the few tyres I've had that I can't get off with my hands, they're ace 🙂
