I’d like to change the wheels on my wife’s bike from the mavic aksium, which I think weigh about 1900g, to something lighter and nicer. There are tons of options out there but most are over my budget

So what’s best for under £200? Second hand stuff seems thin on the ground compared to mtb

    Thanks

Aksiums are pretty good for the money.

My sugestion would be look at the shimano range and buy the best you can afford. Planet X, Ribble and Merlin are normally good.

Failing that if you just want to save some weight – weight the QR. Standard steel ones are pretty heavy – I’ve been running some Ti ones which saved 100g or so for £30.

youve just missed Ribble et al selling 6700 Ultegras for £200, if you can find anyone else doing them they weigh ~1630g including skewers, and are tubeless compatible if you get curious (tyre choice limited and too expensive at the mo IMHO).

Cheers, just swapped the sora qrs for some ti Planet X ones.

Racing 5s seem a good deal, I thought the shimano 105 wheels (5600s) looked good but can’t see them for sale
