    I am thinking of treating myself to a good pair or riding shorts with detachable liner. I want something that will be good for most of the year so maybe slightly water proof with vents.

    What are peoples recommendations

    Ah yes… but there's lycra and then there's lycra and then there's the chamois to think about.

    Dakine 8-track baggies and your choice of good quality lycra underneath. I just returned some dodgy Assos bibs in favour of a pair of Sugoi RS shorts. The Sugois certainly feel better walking around and fit me like a glove, haven't ridden with them yet as they only arrived today.
