Daughter's 21st and wants an MP3 player for her Y-reg Corsa – is Halfords my best bet?

Visit a proper car audio place rather than Halfords, they'll know what they're talking about…

Something like these guys (they have a shop too, not just mail order)… Dunno where you are, but probably gonna be a car audio specialist somewhere close to you I'd think.

All you'll get in Halfords is overpriced tat, and a spotty youth who doesn't really know what he's talking about. You'll also most likely get charged over the odds just to fit the thing too!

I'd look into geting her an interface lead for her ipod/whatever – that way she won't have to set it all up

Currently having an "interesting shopping experience" with Halfords. One month on and still haven't got my MP3/bluetooth thingy fitted but apparently it's happening tomorrow.

I do regret not using an independent shop. Wrong parts have been ordered, gone missing, no phone calls, store leaves you hanging on the line. Can't believe they stay in business.

Just a wee update. Car was taken to Halfords today and audio was fitted whilst I mooched around shops. When I returned at appointed time, said mechanic was already dealing with the next customer.

I thought I would be shown how to use it but no offer was made. I returned home, checked their website and the fitting service does include being shown how to use it! I then had to return cos my mp3 lead did not fit, happened to see the mechanic and he asked if it was working. Still no offer of helping!

They did not charge me for the fascia panel but the correct accessories were considerably more than originally thought.

All in all, an unsatisfactory experience and have still not been able to figure out how it all works!
