A bit OT – but The Archers has a fairly large cast of characters who you never hear even though listeners will know their names, occupations and relationships. Such as Snatch Foster, Baggy, Fat Paul and Jessica the Buxom Falconer. Theres about 20 unheard characters and about 20 named animals that obviously don’t have speaking parts either.

There is a book called The Unheard of Ambridge that is all about the unheard of Ambridge , where The Archers is set

The films ‘London’ and its sequel ‘Robinson in Space’ only have two characters in them. One is called Robinson – but you never see or hear him. He’s accompanied by a companion who narrates the film – you hear but never see him and you don’t know his name. In the third film ‘Robinson in Ruins’ Robinson is missing presumed dead so you still don’t see or here him but this time its because he’s not actually there even though the film is about him. The person who plays his companion is actually dead so he’s absent too.
