Thinking of cycling to work but confused by anything that’s not a mountain bike.

Any suggestion for approx £500 budget?

The new range of Hoys look OK.

Agree the Hoy’s look OK, similar to on paper to the Boardmans. At that price range a carbon fork is unlikely but would be good, in fact I’d opt for a steel one over an alu one.

I just bought a Whyte Shorditch and am really pleased with it, ticked my boxes: 1×10, hydraulic brakes, carbon fork, slack head angle.

Most important is a test ride even round the car park. Charge are worth a look.
