Hi, the house insurance is due again and i just wondered if anyone can recommend anyone. I have 5 bikes ranging from £750-£2500 and need them to be covered when in the garage, any good companies out there or are they all as bad???

Try NFU Mutual, I hear excellent things about them, I shall be getting a quote from them when ours is up for renewal. Halifax currently charge me £70 a year to cover £3K worth of bikes, inc accidental damage & theft away from home.

I had a great experience with Axa recently when my bike got stolen – paid up quickly, more than I expected and pretty good service (apart from one muppet…soon sorted by speaking direct to my claims handler and Wheelies Direct.)

Used to be M&S – but not sure if still the best.

My current cover with Hiscox is excellent BUT… my excess (voluntary) is £500 – ouch
