It would appear that I have arthritis in my right hand, it's been broken a few times and as I get older it stiffens to the point of the middle finger locking in a clenched position.
I've got bigger grips to give a better position with a bit of layback on the bars which seems to help but still have trouble through rock-gardens on long descents, where I have, on occasion not been able to keep hold of the bars, I've also just bought some big bouncy coil Lyriks to take the sting off a bit. There are big mountains where I live.
I currently run a non servo-whatsit xt 203mm from about 2005, but wondered if there is something a bit more powerful I could use that would help. I don't mind a bit of extra weight
I've tried the MTFU approach for a few years now but it's time for a more considered approach.
Any help much appreciated
