So many others – I love the track to Goodfellas, particularly the ‘Layla’ sequence, which I won’t link because of the mutilated bodies content…and continuing the mafia theme, the Godfather has an awesome theme and soundtrack.

So let’s have Wild Theme from Local Hero, as mentioned:

Kick ass (although its pretty crap when listened to without the film)
    Chariots of fire.
    Grosse point blank
All the first 4 rocky films (just for the childhood memories and motivation factor)

edit: bloody hell beaten to kick ass in the time it took me to type it out!

    Natural Born Killers.

IIRC, that has possibly the best use of music in any film ever. The scene where Harrelson grabs a shotgun and goes slow-mo batshit, and Rage Against The Machine kicks in at just the right spot, is cinematic genius. I think I actually shouted “YES!” in the middle of the cinema.

My first thought was bom ba bom bom Tron, but great call on Donnie Darko, it creates such a poignant atmosphere, almost surreal.
