    I used some brake cleaner the other day since I’d ran out of citrus degreaser. It was amazing in comparison

    I’ve been using the stuff from Screwfix in my chain cleaning kerjigger, £7.99 for 5 litres and does the job nicely.

    Brake cleaner is evil stuff… bloody good though.

    The stuff I used seemed to be IPA or acetone which isn’t that bad really, just avoid getting it on your hands.

    Parrafin. Soak, scrub, rinse in parrafin again and allow to dry. Pour the dirty parrafin through a paper filter to get rid of the crap and re-use.

    Heated Ultrasonic bath. Flick the switch and forget. Also very good for alsorts of stuff like mechs, cassettes, etched etc. no more playing with degreaser etc.

    Got mine from Amazon a few yes ago £80 I think
