What are the thoughts? What should I take into account?

SSC are doing one, but in a previous life I got a norbar one for my motorcycles. They need to be calibrated ‘regularly’, how often that is I haven’t a clue…

thing with torque wrenches is that if you don’t calibrate them regularly they do go wrong.

Where i used to work, one of the staff issued with a torque wrench to do a bolt. managed to shear a 1inch bolt by using a scaffolding pole as an extension on the wrench. When asked why he answered the wrench didn’t click so i thought it wasn’t tight enough.

Moral, use your head! torque wrenches aren’t fool proof!!!!

Ok, so sounds like spend proper money or get the bike shop to check torques, think I will go with the later

In my experience, many bike shops have the same attitude to torque wrenches as bike forum posters do. Make of that whatver you will.
