    Dull topic, sorry!

I’m after a cheap smartphone (<£70) to replace my knackered Iphone 3gs. It needs to:

    strava (OBVS!)
sync with outlook calendar (or google calendar at a push)
    be reliable
    have a decent typing interface
    browse relatively quickly

Is the Samsung Galaxy Ace any good?

Spend a little more and get a Moto G.

I have a Galaxy Ace 2 which is about 18 months old and am very happy with it. Has swype typing, does everything quick enough for me. Screen is smaller than iPhones or other Android phones, but I am used to it and prefer the convenience of it being smaller in the pocket.

Something s/h on ebay. Just got an Xperia Ray for £40 there, which a quick google suggests has a significntly higher spec than the Galaxy Ace. Though its screen is a bit diddy and maybe not the best for typing (though the Ace is little bigger, and if you want something with a much bigger screen there’s the otherwise almost identical Arc going for similar money). There are of course other options than Sony Xperia phones there, but I only looked at them as they have functionality I wanted which most phones don’t.

Has got to be the default answer to “what cheap smartphone?”
Buy from Tesco as PAYG. UNlock code via ebay for ~£2
