I urgently need a new front shifter for my road bike and I’d also rather not pay £250 for a pair either if possible… Any thoughts? I’m in Temple Meads and will be heading up the M32 to the M4 home later on so somewhere manageable in that direction would be sweet.

Try Bike on the Clifton triangle or Fred Baker on Gloucester Road. Both roughly on your route.

+1 for Bike – was rather impressed with their Shimano stock and the new workshop area (if not some of the prices 😉 having not been in there for ages.

Dunno if you can buy a new single shifter though – might have an odd one I guess. Give Bristol Bike Workshop a call if not – it’s the kind of thing they might have knocking around the workshop.
