Have a look at backcountry navigator. There is a month long demo version.

I’ve gone down the back country navigator road, 3 weeks free demo, £6.99 for the full works and can be installed on multiple devices. it does everything i want, 1:25000 OS maps with data signal or download 1:25k selected sections to use without data signal, download and overlay gpx files, record and save your own routes. It’s probably not quite as slick as other more expensive options, but it does everything you’d want, for only £6.99.

Use to use oruxmaps but use view ranger now. It is free if you want the open cycle maps (which I find are more than good enough) and (I find it) easier to use than Oruxmaps.
