    – Daniel Avery – Drone Logic (Late last year)

I must admit I’ve had to force myself to stop listening to Love Letters before I wear it out. A few things off the top of my head….

    Vermont – Vermont
    Tycho – Awake
    Com Truise – Wave 1
    Patten – Estoile Naiant

Haven’t bought many new releases so I’ll have to say

Glitch Mob – Love Death Immortality

But to be fair it’s a pretty short list so far this year.

I hate these questions, I can never decide on the best album of any particular year at the end of the year, let alone a quarter of the way through! Trouble is, I haven’t really bought many albums so far, just a bunch of individual tracks I’ve Shazam’d, but Elbow’s The Take-off And Landing Of Everything is going to take some beating. A new one by one of my absolute favourite singer-songwriters, Kris Delmhorst, Blood Test, which I’m supporting via Kickstarter, will be another contender. Rae Morris (works with Bombay Bicycle Club), has a new album, too, which might well be a possible, on the strength of her live performance.
I’ll come back to this come New Year… 😀

    Daniel Avery’s album is good.

Going to give war on drug’s album a listen.

Listened to Elbow’s new one couple of days ago and underwhelmed.

Not bought much this year so Mogwai: Rave Tapes. But new 65DOS on the way which looks like it might be a corker.

    Agnes Obel – Aventine
    Warpaint – Warpaint
Stellar Om Source – Love One Mile

TBH, I’ve been a bit crap on the new music front this year – too busy buying cheap classical box sets and Welsh folk music.

    So far –

    Wild Beasts…Present Tense

I like that the singer always reminds me of Billy MacKenzie.

I am trying not to listen to it too often.
It’s a bit like trying to stop a favourite shirt turning in to a rag.

Hmmm. I have listened to some of these. I like Lack of Afro/Etherwood…some of the others are a bit bed wettery for my tastes.

(Disclaimer, I have no taste. Last album I bought was Ferocious Dog)

    Glitch Mob? ‘Bed Wettery?’

Not the first adjective that comes to mind.

Clobber, I first heard them on the Craig Charles Funky Souly show* on 6Music. Recommended listening if you like that sort of sound.

Indeed no, but “clueless” is one that springs to mind for someone who would use the phrase. But then he does admit it 🙂

I don’t like that dubstep sound….but will have a proper listen tomorrow.

It was metronomy and Sisyphus that I thought were a bit lame.

No worries, I was more confused than anything, the album’s a bit of a blunt instrument, great for murdering yourself on the rollers but some of the clever Glitchy bits from their first album are missing which is a shame. Still worth a spin though.

Now listening to Lack Of Afro as well, quite fun, may dig it out for the Funk Friday at the office, good call.

Must say War On Drugs album is looking very enticing, and I’ve just pre-ordered the special edition CD of Pixies new album.
I like what I’ve heard of Royal Blood, too, and I’ve got to get Blood Red Shoes new one, before I see them next month.

Blood Red Shoes is a good one. Just bought tickets to see em too.
Pixies are a caricature of the band they once were (IMO!)
