I managed to bend one of the sprockets on my cassette last night. It was the second lowest gear so perhaps naturally one of the weaker cogs but how does this happen? Sure it was a fairly hefty landing but I was riding a hardtail. I could see it happening on full suss, where you might have chain growth that torques the cogs up, but on a HT?

The only other person I've seen do this was a 7 stone girlie with legs like 2 wet bits of spaghetti, so I suspect its more bad luck than anything else.

Stick/stone getting caught and dragged up with the chain?

    You pedal when you land?

A landing is never going to bend a sprocket, but I don't know what does it, nor have I seen it.

Well I think we both know that that's not me.

BTW I managed to get hold of a Ti456, which means the Soul has gone to a new home but also means there's room for a small BFe at some point in the future 😉
