  • Bent Rear Shimano SLX B2 Link…Is There A Bodge Or Simple Fix?

I think managed to get my rear mech caught in my spokes, it was a while ago, and my rear mech is still straight enough to use, with me running friction thumbies, but the link between the direct mount part of the mech and the replaceable hanger is now twisted.

Does anybody know of any method of sorting this? The mech is hardly used to it’d be annoying to not be able to continue to use it.

    Much obliged!

Or you could buy a new link, not always successful though, a few of them that we’ve replaced had the mech bent too.

I have an XT 10spd mech with a borked cage – I’ll pop out in a bit to have a look to see if the bit you want is OK. If so, it’s yours for postage.

Where could I buy a link from coatesy?

I’ve had a look and couldn’t find any.

Thanks for the postage offer teethgrinder, that’s very helpful.

Aha, I might have known SJS would have one. It might be a little bit bent, but it’ll be close enough to being straight to use with friction thumbies I think. Thanks again for the postage offer.

No bother. It’s just sitting here doing nothing.
