    New finned pads in my rear end…first ride tonight.
    What’s the definitive best way of bedding them in quickly to get them working properly ASAP?
    Heard of coke (the drink not the snorty stuff), bit of mud…

    Some gentle use, avoid glazing them, before going full power.

    Just a load of sprints and hard braking until they are biting hard. Might only take 10 stops. Might take 20. I don’t think you want to be going anywhere near brakes with coke. Maybe drink it first so you’ve got some oomph for all the sprints.

    Definitely some lubrication, Vaseline should do the trick. Ease them back out slowly. Maybe some Sudocrem if it has left you a little tender.

    I used to do all sort of shit to brake them in – it makes zero difference IME.

    The only thing to remember is that the first few application will give you pretty poor braking.
