A technique for getting bearings in without force is cool the bearing in a freezer and gently warm the other part.
Without wanting to use force to install my hope bearings, should I use the freezer technique?
Socket sets on bearings then hammers worries me.

Could always use a bearing press or the proper drift? I don’t recall the drifts being over £15, but they’re on CRC, albeit I got mine off the LBS.

I’d avoid the socket/hammer thing, but I am a pedant.

If you’re anywhere near reading you can borrow a drift set from me.

You won’t get enough shrinkage with a normal freezer.

Hope bearings don’t need or get much love in this house. We have the tool for the bottom bracket. I might look for the hub bearing tool too.
