As the title says ...
I'm having a frame built and want to maximise tyre clearance so that I can run a Hans Dampf.
Frame is in the jig and is being set up for a 30T Wolftooth ring on 9 speed XT triple cranks. Clearance is tight, but the idea has come up to run 2 spacers on the drive side cup (as you would for a 68mm shell). This is going to leave the non-drive side crank 2.5mm less engaged with the splines of the axle.
So, has anyone tried this without killing / maiming / injuring themselves?
