My bb is gone, bearings pretty much shot, and I’ve been skimping about and haven’t taken any action yet. My cranks are low end Truvativ cranks from an 09 Commencal Meta, and whatever external bb came with it. Now, I’m not bothered about the cranks (but have been told they are very heavy blah blah), but the bb definitely need replaced. Do I go for something like the SLX double (I run mine as a double, with a Gamut bashring), or replace the bb with something much better than what would come with the SLX cranks?
